FAQs

  • It's true that therapy isn't for everyone; there may be a multitude of other ways that you can get emotional support and healing, and I am a big proponent of using what works for you, whatever that may be. Therapy can be one way that you can get extra support. Even if you are lucky enough to have support from family, friends, and/or your community sometimes it can be hard to reach out to our loved ones for support. You may feel like you are a burden, or they don't know how to best support you in your struggle. Seeking professional guidance might be helpful.

  • Yes! It really works! Therapy via telehealth was already a fast emerging field and then the COVID-19 pandemic exploded its growth. One outcome of this rapid growth is that there is emerging data to support online therapy's efficacy. If you are curious, you can check out some research here. Also, if you feel that you would benefit more from in-person support, that is 1000% okay! I genuinely want you to receive the support and care that will be best for you, whether or not that includes working with me.

  • Under the law, you have the right to receive a ‘Good Faith Estimate’ explaining how much your medical care will cost (this includes therapy services).

Healthcare providers (including mental health therapists like me) need to give patients who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

    Your rights:

    • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

    • Make sure your healthcare provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

    • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059

  • For individuals, my fee is $150 per 50-minute session.

For couples therapy, my fee is $175 per 50-minute session.

  • In order to secure your appointment, a card must be put on file. I accept all major credit cards. Your card will be charged as soon as the session is completed.

  • I ask that you cancel or reschedule your appointment within 24 hours notice. I reserve this time especially for you and advanced notice is needed so that I may try to offer the spot to another client. The late cancellation/late reschedule fee is $50 and this is strictly applied.

  • Not at this time. I currently have very limited hours to be able to dedicate to clients as my practice is part-time. In the future, this is something I plan to incorporate so please check back for an update.

  • Mental health laws are weird — I am currently licensed to practice only in California, Texas, and Utah and therefore cannot provide therapy services to those who are not physically located in one of those states at the time of the sessions. But feel free to reach out to me and I can try to see if I can locate a local referral for you in your state.

  • The first step is to set up a free consultation, you can sign up for that here.

  • For most clients, the typical cadence is usually once per week or biweekly. However, your journey is unique and is not a one-size-fits-all. We can talk about what would be best for you in your free consultation, which you can book here.

  • Well, that depends (I know, I know).

It depends on many factors like the circumstances that brought you to therapy, your level of functioning, and what your goals are. I am a fan of seeing clients empower themselves and grow from their painful experiences; last sessions are always bittersweet! Usually, anywhere from 3 months to a year is typical.
