Therapy can help, really. But what does working together look like?
Free 20-minute consultation
You can book a free 20-minute video consultation where we can discuss your current situation, how I might be able to help and I can answer any questions you might have. If in the end, we feel it's a good fit to work together, we will book our first session and I will go over important details. If for whatever reason, working together isn't advised or the best fit, I will try to connect you with another therapist or resource who can best help.
Important Paperwork
You will receive through email all the important intake paperwork and other documents for you to look over and sign before our first session. Included will be the informed consent for therapy services and other important information to help you and I prepare for our first session.
We will have our first session via telehealth
In the first session, we will go over your prior mental health history, where you are currently at in your journey, what your current emotional struggles are, what your tentative therapy goals will be and any other additional information that will be important for the therapy process like important relationships, strengths and resources you have, and any other information you think will be important to know. And, of course, we will be getting to know each other too!
Why telehealth?
Online therapy or telehealth is safe, secure, and convenient. Online therapy is just like regular face to face therapy, only you get to wear sweatpants :)
My secure HIPPA compliant platform allows us to connect anytime and anywhere; this means you can do the hard work that therapy requires in your own safe space or where is most comfortable or convenient for you. Online makes every step of the process simple which allows us to take the guesswork out of scheduling and billing so that we can focus on what is really important to you.
Now, maybe you have done in-person therapy before and loved it (that’s great!), and are wondering if you will still get the same benefit from online. Well, as with any new experience in life, we don’t know until we try. In general, telehealth services are a good fit for someone who is comfortable with technology and enjoys the convenience it offers.
I’m hopeful online will be a great fit for you; however, if it’s not that’s okay too. This is why I offer a free 20-minute consultation, where you can assess the fit of both the technology and the therapeutic relationship (fancy therapy language for how comfortable you feel talking with me) and can decide from there.
